IN THIS LESSON
Trauma, Moral Injury, and Cumulative Stress
First responders experience trauma differently than the general population—through constant exposure, moral conflict, and cumulative strain. This course examines how repeated critical incidents, exposure to suffering, and operational decision-making contribute to moral injury and complex trauma. Participants learn to identify behavioral and somatic indicators of trauma unique to responders and integrate evidence-based approaches to prevention stabilization, and post-trauma recovery. Emphasis is placed on moral repair, narrative reframing, and resilience-building strategies that align with responder values and identity.
