Chapter 2
IN THIS LESSON
Suicide Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention
This domain explores suicide risk through the lens of responder culture, occupational stress, and stigma. Participants learn how organizational silence, access to means, and identity-based pressures elevate risk. The course provides practical, evidence-based frameworks for early identification, crisis response, and safe messaging following a loss. Participants gain confidence in engaging peers, leadership, and families in postvention and grief support—promoting a culture where help-seeking is viewed as strength rather than weakness.
